All over the place and only in one place.

Not much is going on. Kids out of school so we are busy full filling summer dreams which include, Pool time, More Pool time, museum, pool time, Library, Pool time and used book store! As you can see pool time pretty much all we do during the summer than again its 100’s to 110 most days during the summer so the pool is the greatest place to be.

I have been reading for my sisters Blog for a TLC tour so far one books as made my cry and the other gave me nightmares. Lesson learned do not read about stalkers, serial killers or murder before bed. My one of my tiny humans came into my room at 3am with a bed dream but since they can’t be normal kids and touch me to wake me up instead they stand next to the bed whispering my name and staring at me. Which of course caused me to jump out of bed screaming, waking up my husband who had to calm down a crying kid and a wife who thought someone was trying to kill her.

Still working on my eating disorder. Someday are great and some days are very very bad.  As I sit down with my therapist we talked about talents and gifts that aren’t always talents people view as talents or gifts. She told me my ability to be honesty and real is a great talents. I couldn’t help but laugh. Growing up talents consisted of art, music, and cooking all of which I do ok. I can play the piano, I can sing, I can’t dance but I sure can pretend too. As you can see cooking isn’t a talent I have in fact I cook for my family but it took 12 years to stop burning water. Oh and I can draw a mean great at stick figures but I had take a mean photo.

If you follow me on facebook every day I am honest about being a mom and how hard it is. I have friend who post how amazing their kids are, or how perfect their life is. I post things like my 2 year old screamed at the rain because it was touching his head, or that my 8 year old thinks that Harry Potter is boring (I think my heart broke a little.) How my 6 year old tells me I need to work harder to be awesome like dad, my 4 year old telling me I need a shower and my two year old reminds me every day why I don’t want anymore kids. (Its called Birth Control Hour!) I am real and I am honest. I am not about to pretend like my life is perfect because he has never been and will never be perfect. Now if I could only get my eating disorder brain to work on the concept I will never be perfect.

I have been listening to Brene Brown Power of Vulnerability and she has so many amazing things to say and she makes me laugh! She has so many things that ring true in my funny little brain.;_ylt=AwrTceEIcXNVjQcAQ4AnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByNWU4cGh1BGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw–?p=Power+of+Vulnerability&fr=yhs-mozilla-002&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-002

Review Ripped by Eddie Harris

Title: Ripped (A Blood Money Novel)

Author Edie Harris

Stars 5 out of 5

Ripped is book two of the Blood Money series and it starts off two months after book one where Beth Faraday (Tobias younger sister) has only been home recovering from tormented at the hands of a sadistic killer. Tobias Faraday runs Faraday Industries and will do anything to protect his sister and her future even if it means holding a woman in prison for a crimes he finds to be unforgivable. Chandler McCallister former British Spy is the reason his sister was tortured for days. Had she given the Faraday’s the information they needed Beth wouldn’t have endured the endless pain she has to be reminded of for the rest of her life. Chandler uses her sassy attitude as a way to keep everyone away from her including the only person she cares for- her twin sister.

When Tobias wants to go after the man who kidnapped his sister he needs Chandlers connections in Moscow and he doesn’t care if she comes homes alive or not because all he can see is red. Tobias learns he has created enemies all over the world but he uses his nickname to get what he wants without caring who gets in the way of the Ice King.
In a twist Chandler promises she will give Tobias every last person who harmed his perfect sister if she is allowed to go to her twin sisters wedding. Tobias figures it can’t be that hard to be a pretend boyfriend. He relies on his sister Beth to help him figure out how to be the perfect boyfriend.

Ripped is a gritty novel giving you the darker side in the business of weapons development. Tobias Faraday is known as the Ice king because he has no problem taking what he wants without bringing in his emotions until Chandler McCallister, who has everything he needs but refuses to give it up without conditions. Not even his cold stare gives “Toby” what he wants. Nothing Scares Chandler not even Tobias Faraday

Chandler has a family history she is not proud of but she uses it to her advantage getting her into a gang of murdering thugs. She is sickened by the blood on her hands but she does it to keep the one person she loves safe her twin sister.

Ripped will take the readers on a nonstop pulsing pounding adventure that will have reader understand Chandler so much better and instead of having her like they did in book one. This novel is gritty, bloody, lots of dead bodies but at the same time the heart of the story is all about family which is a great theme readers need in this day and age where we are told to always look out for one’s self.

This book doesn’t have just steamy moments, but moment that will have the reader needing a cold glass of water. Ripped switches things up in the romance department which was a fun change.

Ripped will have the readers hooked unable to put the book down until the very last page which will have the readers excited for book 3.

Review American Wife by Taya Kyle with Jim DeFelice

Title: American Wife

Author: Taya Kyle with Jim DeFelice

Stars 5 out of 5

I am not sure I can sum up American Wife better than say grab a box of tissues and take it a day at a time. This is a beautiful and honest look at life of Taya Kyle. This book will have you smile, laugh, cry and feel heartache for what Taya Kyle with all that she has been though but she doesn’t expect you to feel sorry for her as much as he as asked you to see what life was like living with the American Sniper her Husband, Best friend and the love of her life.

Taya writes about how difficult like is living with a Navy SEAL and the stress it takes on the marriage and family life. Her marriage to Kyle wasn’t easy and she doesn’t sugar coat anything but what she does is constantly fight for what she wants and the peace she is looking for.

I enjoyed reading her husbands  emails sent while he was deployed overseas. They were sweet and you could read the love he had for his wife. I could never imagine trying to raise my little family alone and yet that is what Taya did while  he was gone.

The reader will laugh as she talks about her pregnancy, the reader will understand the struggle she had in her marriage, they reader will be there for the saddest moment in her life and how the hits keep coming. The best part is the reader will be able to connect with her because of how honest her writing is.

She wrote about the changes Chris had gone though and the PTSD she had to deal with.

I do not cry it’s just something I just don’t’ do unless I’m hurt. (AKA broken toes) I cried when she spoke of her husband’s death, I cried as she told her children of their father’s death and I cried as she wrote about never seeing Chris in person again.  I cried because you could feel the pain she felt as you read her words.

I loved that she never once blamed God but accepted that there is a plan for everyone. I loved that her daughter would talk about how she could hear her father and that he was talking to her.
”The Faith of the innocents is truly a blessed faith.”  Another Quote in the book I found to be sweet when you look back on the email’s Chris had sent. Taya wrote “It’s ok to be mad at God. He can handle it.” In the emails Chris had wrote those same words many times to Taya.
“I do not need to romanticize Chris, because our reality is messy, passionate, full of everything extreme emotions known to man, including fear, compassion, anger, pain, laughing so hard we double over and hugged it out, laughing when we were irritated with each other and laugh when we were so in love it felt like someone hung the moon for only us.”  I love that she doesn’t tell the world their life was perfect and I think that is something everyone needs to know that life isn’t a fairy tale and marriage isn’t a walk in the park it is everything she spoke of and more.
Taya Kyle’s honest thoughts on her life I feel will help many who deal with the loss of a loved one knowing they are not alone and its ok to seek help.
I enjoyed the way Taya wrapped up the book with a lists of lessons she learned. Each one can be applied to life in different way but each are extremely important.
I couldn’t write this review without writing my personals thoughts because this book is an intimate book at Taya Kyle’s life and I believe anyone who reads this book will look at their life and finds ways to work on being a better person.

Have a box of tissues set aside because even if your not a crier like me you will cry.

Review No Woman Left Behind by Julie Moffett

Title: No Woman Left Behind
Author: Julie Moffett
Stars 5 out of 5
Review:  I know I have said this before- I love the Lexis Carmichael series. The author Julie Moffett again hits it out of the ball park with this laugh out loud moments from Meet the parents to her jumping out of a plane. I couldn’t stop laughing and cheering Lexis on. Julie Moffett created a character women can relate to whether it’s meeting the parents with a new boyfriend or doing anything for a friend or dealing with the unknown she forges ahead trying hard to do whatever is right.

Julie Moffett keep Lexis growing as a person throughout the series taking on new challenges that keep readers hooked from first to last sentence. The book flows so well never once slowing down or losing the pace having readers hooked line and sinker. You will fall in love with a new set of characters Julie Moffett introduces and I can only hope they will be in another book in the future. I thought No Place like Rome was funny but this book had me laughing so hard I cried as Lexis single handily brought a Navy Seal to his knees. I will be honest, I bit my nails as Slash left Lexis when her choice was to save her friend instead of listening to Slash and I laughed again when Lexis gave relationship advice so her new found friends.  This is a perfect addition to the Lexis Carmichael series if you loved the adventure- No Place Like Rome – you will love No Woman Laughed Behind. I can honestly say this is my favorite in the series so far.
